2008 Kayak Models
2008… This is our 22nd year as a kayak and canoe shop. Every year it becomes more difficult trying to figure out which new model kayaks to carry in our already expansive line-up. It is tough at times to decide what model to promote and which of the models to let go or pass by. As best we can, the issue is approached from two perspectives; as paddlers ourselves and as a customer coming to our shop looking for accurate information, experience and honest recommendations. The models listed below are those that we are planning to or already do carry at our shop. The actual models we carry in stock may vary somewhat from this initial listing. We have added selected models from two new lines for this season: Native Watercraft and Beacon Boats. New models for 2008 are so indicated. And so, here we go… again.
For models that are not listed here of manufacturers that we do represent, please see our direct links to the particular manufacturer for further information. Even if we don’t normally carry them in stock, we can certainly order them for a customer.
You can scroll down to browse all the models we stock, or click on a manufacturer's name to jump to its models.

Fresh concepts in hull design, stability, seating comfort, and the ability to accessorize for fishing are the strong points of these designs These models have incorporated many innovative ideas in hull design, stability, comfort, and versatility. The Tunnel Hull™ design offers a maximum of stability as well as a new level of seating comfort because of the slightly ergonomically different sitting position of the paddler. Also, the 1st Class Seating™ has been well-thought out for comfort, ease of use (the seat slides and may be quickly taken out of the boat to use as a camp chair or for ease of loading the boat on a vehicle), strength, longevity and uses environmentally friendly materials. The Adapt-a-Trak™ rail accessory attachment system allows fishing rod holders, sprayskirts and other accessories to be quickly attached. Whether for fishing, photography or just paddling, these kayaks have received a lot of attention and favorable comments in the few months since their introduction. This series of models may just become the "ultimate" boat for many, many paddlers.

New line for 2008
Little Wing kayaks are built of either fiberglass using a marine foam core inner layer or, most common, carbon fiber using a marine foam core inner layer. Both processes use this sandwich construction for strength and lightness. An epoxy primer is then used over which a state of the art paint is applied and then sealed with a top quality durable finish of linear polyurethane marine clear coat.
The day we tried these kayaks at our shop the wind was blowing 25-30 mph and there was a 2+ foot chop with whitecaps that were splashing over our docks.. Great conditions to demo kayaks before deciding whether or not to add them to our lineup! Both models performed extremely well in those conditions. These kayaks offer strong stability and were easy to keep on course no matter whether the wind and waves were coming at us, from behind us, or directly on our side. The unusual hull design including an angled transom provides excellent stability, both initial and secondary, rough water capability, and speed. The workmanship is impeccable and the construction is well thought out. And, these kayaks are light…easy to carry and car-top them.. These were the deciding factors for us…they’re now in our lineup! More often than not, the number of times one goes out kayaking is directly related to how much the kayak weighs and how much effort it takes get it to and from the water.
